CUT
STDIAMOND experts choose only perfect cut diamonds.
Among the 4 C criteria, the cutting diamond is definitely determining - its symmetry and harmony of proportions: neither too high nor too flat. It is the cut that guarantees the exceptional beauty of the stone. Classic cut central diamonds weighing more than 0.30 carats belong to the categories “Very Good” (very good proportions) or “Excellent” (excellent proportions) *, guaranteeing maximum shine and a unique play of light glare.
When evaluating classic-cut diamonds, STDIAMOND specialists also use the following additional criteria:
• the site should be from 56% to 63% of the diameter (for stones weighing more than 0.23 carats);
• total height should be from 58% to 63% of the diameter;
• calettas should not be;
• The girdle must be “slightly wide” or “wide”.
* Center cut diamonds of a classic cut weighing less than 0.30 carats, as well as fancy cut diamonds, can be categorized from “Excellent” to “Good” (good proportions) on a set scale. There are many forms of diamond cutting. The most beautiful form is recognized as the round, most revealing mesmerizing "game" of the diamond. A perfectly cut diamond can be compared to a mirror: the rays of light reflected from side to side pass through the crown. The filigree execution of each face allows you to fully reveal the radiance of the stone.
Among the variety of forms, the most famous are such cuts as classical, oval, "marquise", pear-shaped, "heart", emerald and "princess". When cutting, the main task is to maximize the brilliance of the stone and give it special expressiveness.
CARAT
The weight of diamonds is measured in carats; The word "carat" comes from the name of the tree "caroubier", the seeds of which in ancient times were used to weigh diamonds. Weight is a decisive criterion when evaluating a diamond. One carat is 0.20 grams.
In its products STDIAMOND uses tapeworms of various weights, depending on the frame. Soliters are certified diamonds weighing 0.18 carats.
CLARITY
Sometimes diamonds contain natural inclusions that can reduce their quality.
The purity of a diamond depends on the number of inclusions, their size and location in the stone. A scale developed by the GIA for assessing the purity of diamonds allows you to classify them from FL (Flawless = no alien inclusions are detected even under a magnifying glass at 10x magnification) to I3 (Imparfait = alien inclusions are visible even with the naked eye).
STDIAMOND selects only diamonds from IF to VS2 for its products, which guarantees exceptional purity and the absence of the smallest inclusions visible to the naked eye. * * The method for selecting diamonds described in this catalog, as well as quality guarantees in accordance with the 4 C principle, apply to round diamonds weighing from 0.18 carats.
COLOR
The closer the diamond is to white, the higher it is valued. To classify diamonds by color, the Gemological Institute of America has developed a scale that includes in alphabetical order categories from D to Z (D means “completely white” and Z “with a noticeable tint”). The colors of the diamonds that STDIAMOND selects for their products can vary exclusively from D to H, which means that they are all transparent. Only diamonds with or without slight fluorescence are allowed.
STDIAMOND diamonds
The globally recognized Gemological Institute of America (GIA) has developed the 4 C diamond certification standard. The quality and value of a diamond are determined on the basis of four main criteria: color, clarity, cut and karat (English. Color, Clarity, Cut, Carat). Guided by the GIA criteria when selecting diamonds, STDIAMOND experts prefer only stones with exceptional properties that meet the strict 4 C criteria.
